New travel rules for Portugal

International travel to Portugal is permitted. It is necessary to comply with requirements to ensure entry is allowed.

Vaccinations and vaccinated travel

Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, issued in selected countries, are exempt from testing requirements.
Proof of vaccination must be in the form of an EU Digital Certificate or issued by a third country, under reciprocal conditions. The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before departure and not more than 9 months (270 days). Thereafter, the vaccine certificate must reflect that a vaccine booster has been administered.
A full list of authorized vaccines and issuing countries can be found at https://ec.europa.eu/info/live-work-travel-eu/coronavirus-response/safe-covid-19-vaccines-europeans/eu-digital-covid-certificate_en

Test/medical certificate required

Non-vaccinated travelers are required to provide proof of a negative RT-PCR test, taken within the previous 72 hours of departure. Alternatively, proof of a negative rapid antigen test can be presented, taken within the previous 24 hours of departure.
Travelers may instead provide documentation of having recovered from COVID-19. This must be provided via an EU Digital Certificate or issued by a third country, under reciprocal conditions.
